On Saturday November 12th, Dark Horse Jiu-Jitsu brought 15 competitors to the Fight to Win Nationals tournament and walked away with an amazing 7 gold medals, 1 absolute belt, 5 silvers and 2 bronzes. We are very proud of our young team on their dominating performance. Great job guys!
October Update
September was an awesome month for Dark Horse Jiu-Jitsu.
On Sept 17th we promoted the following Blue Belts: Brian W, Ben K and Brandon D.
Recently we also promoted the following people to 4th Stripe: James B, Keiko H, Will F, Patrick D, Matt A and Sean W. Pretty soon our mats are going to be filled with a lot of colored belts!
We have also started giving our thirty page Dark Horse Student Handbook. If you haven't received your student handbook, please email us!
Professor Jubera wrapped up his competition year with a Gold Medal in the IBJJF American Nationals tournament and helped bring the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu to a 2nd place in the team standings.
Our next tournament is going to be Fight to Win on November 12. Competition practices will start Saturday, October 15th at 1:45 PM! If you are planning on competing or wish to help our competitors get ready for their tournament, be there!

World Champion at Dark Horse
On Saturday, June 18th Black Belt World Champion Rafael Lovato Jr taught 30 students at Dark Horse Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu some of the open guard techniques that has made him the best grappler in the United States. With a high level of enery Professor Lovato taught for over 3 hours showing submissions, sweeps and passes that impressed everyone with his technical level of detail. He ended the seminar by answering questions including his triangle escape that won him his 3rd Pan American Championship. Professor Jubera has trained with Rafael over 6 years and Professor Dudderar started his Jiu-Jitsu career with him in 1999. The first seminar held at Dark Horse BJJ was definately a huge success.
